The leader of Ghana’s opposition political party, the Liberal Party of Ghana, Kofi Akpaloo, has reportedly been arrested by the country’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Accra-based CitiFM first reported about Mr. Akpaloo’s arrest, citing family sources.
The report did not indicate the reason for his arrest.
Mr. Akpaloo is said to have been arrested at his home in Kumasi, the capital of Ghana’s Ashanti Region.
Reports say his whereabouts remain unknown.
Mr Akpaloo contested in the 2024 general elections of Ghana.
He remains a well-known figure in Ghanaian politics.
