Lady pastor and entrepreneur, Apostle Lilian Kumah Aryeequaye, has urged young women to intentionally build themselves into assets for society rather than liabilities. She made this call while speaking as Special Guest of Honour at the Diplomatic Envoy Globalization Career Seminar held at Accra Girls Senior High School.
Addressing the students, Apostle Aryeequaye confronted long-standing cultural and philosophical narratives that have portrayed women as weak and dependent. According to her, these intimidating perceptions have, over the years, caused significant psychological and emotional harm to many women, limiting their confidence and aspirations.
“Society over the years has tried through culture and philosophy to corrupt our mindset to see women as weak,” she said. “I want to tell you that we are not weak, and we should not accept that — you are stronger and better than that.”
Drawing from the biblical account of creation, she explained that women were intentionally created by God to support men. She questioned how someone created to support and strengthen another could be described as weak. In her view, the very role of support demands resilience, intelligence, and inner strength.
She therefore encouraged the young ladies to identify their purpose in life and pursue it wholeheartedly, regardless of the challenges they may encounter. She emphasized that every individual has a distinct divine assignment and that fulfilling these assignments is crucial for national development and societal progress.
“What makes you a high-value woman is being able to identify that unique assignment,” she noted. “It can be anything in the field of medicine, ministry, entertainment, governance, and more.”
Apostle Aryeequaye further stressed that a woman’s worth should never be measured by her physical appearance but by her capacity to contribute meaningfully to society. “Your value is not in your looks, but in what you have to offer. Aim high and go beyond the status quo,” she advised.
She added that in today’s world, being a high-value woman is not only beneficial for personal growth but also important in relationships. According to her, modern men are increasingly seeking partners who are purposeful and resourceful.
“Nowadays, modern men are not looking for burdens to handle. Every gentleman is looking for a high-value woman — a woman who can help. Now they ask, ‘What do you bring to the table?’” she stated.
Speaking from her experience as an entrepreneur, Apostle Aryeequaye also encouraged the young women to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit. She described entrepreneurship as one of the most practical tools for poverty alleviation and financial independence.
“Everybody can become an entrepreneur. You start small, and it grows big,” she added, urging the students to embrace creativity, innovation, and hard work.
Her message resonated strongly with the audience, serving as a powerful reminder that true worth is built through purpose, skill, character, and impact. By striving to become women of value, she concluded, young ladies can transform their lives, uplift their communities, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
