The Central East Regional Police Command in Ghana on December 17, 2025, made an intelligence-led move to three different locations in the Senya Beraku enclave in the Central Region to clampdown on criminal activities undertaken by some persons.
The team first visited Kukwado, a coastal area where six suspects were arrested with some substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other related items. Four suspects, including a female were arrested at a yellow house near a cemetery with some dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a local laced gin ‘akpeteshie’ (laka), a 32” television set, and different brands of cigarettes. Again, the team proceeded to Awiaso, where three suspects, including a female, were arrested together with dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a toy gun, shisha, local gin, and a game pot. The hideout of these suspects were subsequently set on fire by the team.

Generally, 13 suspects were arrested at the three different locations, and they include; Michael Essel, aged 23, Frederick Koranteng, aged 23, James Essel, aged 24, Jones Koranteng, aged 20yrs, Daniel Essibu, aged 30, Kofi Abbiw, aged 28, Kofi Essibu, aged 57, Klotey Poree, aged 26, Bismark Sarbeng, aged 26, Kojo Otoo, aged 24, Thomas Quartey, aged 22, Gladys Jackson, aged 19, and Florence Adenue, aged 25.
Meanwhile, both suspects and exhibits are currently in police custody assisting in investigations.
