Ghana Police Arrest Man For Beating 13-Year-Old Daughter To Death Over Stolen Food

Police in Ghana have arrested a father who allegedly beat his 13-year-old daughter to death using cane and a metal pipe after accusing her of stealing food belonging to her younger sibling.

The Ghana Police Service, in a statement dated November 20, 2025 and signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Relations for the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, announced the arrest of the suspect.

The statement identified the alleged killer father as Isaac Adonteng and the deceased child as Celestine Adonteng.

Police said the incident happened Kokrobite in the Greater Accra Region.

According to the statement, “Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect physically assaulted the victim with a cane, a metal pipe, and other objects after accusing her of taking food belonging to her younger sibling.”

The statement added that “Despite the victim sustaining multiple injuries, the suspect failed to seek medical care and kept her confined in a room.”

It says “police, acting on a complaint, proceeded to the residence where the victim was found unconscious. She was rushed to the police hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival.”
