The Upper West Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested seven persons for allegedly engaging in illegal mining activities.
According to a statement issued by the police, the seven individuals were caught illegally mining on the Black Volta River at Chiantanga Community near Dorimon in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region.
Police named the seven suspects as Sabugu Razak, Ibrahim Zuberu, Alex Amedzake, John Cobblah, Promise Dufe, Angelina Akpese, and Rebecca Tumawu.
