The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested 101 suspects as part of an intensified security crackdown dubbed the “Christmas Special Operations.”
The coordinated raids targeted criminal hotspots across the capital to ensure a peaceful festive season for residents and visitors.
Targeted Areas and Focus
The operations were carried out in several key commercial and residential hubs known for high festive activity, including:
- Kwame Nkrumah Circle
- Nungua
- Adabraka
- Achimota
- East Legon
- Railways
The primary focus of the initiative was to curb the activities of armed robbers, pickpockets, and other individuals whose actions pose a direct threat to public safety during the busy December period.
Ongoing Investigations
Police authorities confirmed that all 101 individuals are currently in custody. Personnel are conducting thorough screenings and investigations to determine the extent of each suspect’s involvement in criminal networks or specific recent incidents.
