Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed deep sorrow following the death of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Dr. Bawumia paid tribute to the late religious leader, describing him as a pioneering Ghanaian innovator who went beyond spiritual leadership to make a lasting impact on the nation. He acknowledged Apostle Safo’s groundbreaking work in indigenous innovation and his efforts to cultivate an industrial mindset among Ghanaians.
Dr. Bawumia also highlighted Apostle Safo’s longstanding commitment to social welfare through numerous philanthropic initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged. He described personal encounters with the late Apostle as uplifting, often leaving him with enduring words of encouragement and wisdom.
He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Kristo Asafo Mission, and all those affected by the loss. Apostle Safo passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, according to his church and family.
