Former Ugandan Ambassador to Egypt and the Middle East Killed In Motorcycle Accident

An ex-Ugandan Ambassador to Egypt and the Middle East, Louis Richard Angualia, has died in a motorcycle accident.

The deadly crash occurred around 5pm near Abi Farm in Arua City within the Ayivu East Constituency when Ambassador Angualia.

He was riding a Bajaj motorcycle and collided head-on with another rider, losing his life instantly at the scene.

Confirming the incident, West Nile Region Police spokesperson Collins Asea says, “True, our traffic officers are on the ground. More details will follow.”

Born in Maracha District, Ambassador Angualia attended Liria Primary School and later St. Joseph’s College Ombaci.

He studied at Makerere University, where he once ran for Guild President.

Ambassador Angualia started his career in public service as Town Clerk for Arua before moving to the Ministry of Water.

He later joined the diplomatic corps and served as Uganda’s Ambassador to Egypt and the Middle East, where he was praised for his dedication and professionalism.

Angualia was also active in elective politics. In 2011, he contested for the Maracha County parliamentary seat but lost to Alex Onzima Adroa.

After the district was split into two constituencies in 2016, he ran for the Maracha seat, losing to Hon. Oguzu Lee Denis.

In 2020, he shifted his focus to Maracha East Constituency, contesting in the NRM primaries but was defeated by Ruth Molly Lematia Ondoru.

More recently, he dedicated himself to academia, lecturing at Kyambogo University and the Uganda Management Institute, where he was respected for his passion for leadership and education.

Ambassador Angualia’s passing marks the end of a long and distinguished career in public service.

He is remembered as a committed servant of the nation whose contributions left a lasting impact.
