BOLGATANGA – The Upper East Region’s music scene shone brightly at the 2024 Happy Man Bitters Upper East Music Awards, held on January 11 at the GNAT Hall.
The night’s biggest winner was undoubtedly Fasetwo, who took home the coveted Overall Artiste of the Year award, along with a generous GHC 21,000 prize and a year-long flight ticket from Tamale to Accra.
The star-studded event, sponsored by Happy Man Bitters, celebrated the region’s diverse musical talent across a range of genres. Fasetwo also secured the Best Collaboration of the Year award alongside Fadlan for their hit song “Sabu.”
Other notable winners included Phil Mak, who won Gospel Song of the Year for “Akimole,” and Carlblingx, who claimed Best Rap Performance of the Year for “Kpa Kpa Kpa.” Each received GHC 1,000 for their achievements. The awards also recognized excellence in Reggae/Dancehall (Alaptawan), Hip Hop (Gingsen), and Afrobeats (Young Naira), showcasing the breadth of talent in the region. Apodita was named Female Vocalist of the Year, while Rockcity Bongo took home the Best Group of the Year award.
SaintChicago’s infectious track “Ba Na Zoe” earned him the HMB Most Popular Song of the Year award and a GHC 2,000 prize. Gloria Bby was recognized for her significant influence on the regional music scene, winning Upper East Music Influencer of the Year and a GHC 6,000 prize.
The 2024 Happy Man Bitters Upper East Music Awards, with its celebration of established and emerging artists, underscored the vibrancy and potential of the region’s music industry, setting a high bar for the year to come.
