Ghana: EOCO and QNET Joint Operation Rescues 26 Victims of Human Trafficking

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has rescued 26 victims of human trafficking following a coordinated raid conducted on Friday, October 17, 2025.

The operation, code-named “Operation Quest,” was led by EOCO’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit in partnership with QNET, a multinational company known for its wellness and lifestyle products.

The raid, which began around 10:30 a.m., resulted in the arrest of nine suspects—two Ivorians and seven Ghanaians. The rescued victims, comprising 10 Ivorians and 16 Ghanaians, were reportedly trafficked under false promises of employment opportunities allegedly linked to QNET.

EOCO explained that the victims had been deceived by individuals posing as QNET recruitment agents. These fraudsters, the office clarified, had no legitimate connection to the company and were exploiting QNET’s name to perpetrate their illegal schemes.

All suspects are currently in EOCO’s custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.

In a public advisory, EOCO urged Ghanaians to remain cautious and report any persons or groups claiming to recruit on behalf of QNET. The office recalled that in July 2025, EOCO signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with QNET to curb the misuse of the company’s name in fraudulent and trafficking activities.

“This operation highlights the value of our partnership with QNET in addressing the growing challenge of trafficking disguised as employment,” said Faustina Lartey, Head of Public Affairs at EOCO.

EOCO reaffirmed its dedication to protecting the public from organised crime and encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities through its official communication channels.
