Lagos and several other parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have experienced power blackout as the country’s electricity grid crashed on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
In a public notice, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) confirmed the blackout.
According to AEDC, the outage was due to loss of supply from the grid.
It told residents that “Please be informed that the power outage currently being experienced is due to a loss of supply from the national grid at 11:23 am today, affecting electricity supply across our franchise areas.”
AEDC says “Rest assured, we are working closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure power is restored once the grid is stabilised.”
