Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has unveiled a high-speed bottling line at its facility in Midrand, South Africa.
The bottling line, which cost Coca-Cola R365 million or $20.6 million, has the capacity to produce 72,000 bottles per hour.
The line is believed to be the first of its kind in South Africa.
It is expected to significantly boost production capacity, job creation and local value chain development.
“By launching this new line, we strengthen our ability to meet growing consumer demand and create shared value across the local value chain, including for our customers and communities,” Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) manufacturing and technical director Moses Lubisi said. CCBSA is a subsidiary of CCBA.
He said the investment reaffirmed Coca Cola’s commitment to producing, distributing, and sourcing locally.
The production line incorporates environmentally efficient technology to optimise water and energy use, aligning with CCBA’s sustainability goals.
