Ayres Sasaki
A Brazilian singer, Ayres Sasaki, has died from being electrocuted after hugging a fan on stage in what has been described as a freak accident.
Ayres, aged 35, was on July 13, reportedly performing a concert at Solar Hotel in Salinopolis, Brazil when he hugged a fan who was soaking wet.
Reports say after hugging the fan, he suffered an electric shock, leading to his death.
Hotel Solar, the establishment where he was performing, released a statement following his death expressing their condolences and support for his family.
The message, which is translated from Portuguese, reads: ‘Hotel Solar deeply regrets the loss of its beloved Ayres Sasaki. Since yesterday, we are entirely dedicated to providing support to their family and taking care of necessary measures.
Billboard Brazil reported that the Para Civil Police are investigating the death of Ayres, quoting a police statement as saying:
“The Civil Police informs that the death of Ayres Augusto Sasaki Matos is being investigated by the Salinópolis Police Station. Witnesses are being heard and expert reports have been requested to assist the investigations.”
