A 16-year-old boy, Kamil Hubert, has died after being crushed by a 30-foot tall tree he was helping to cut down for a summer job a day after writing his GCSE exams.
The tragedy happened on Saturday morning, June 15, 2024, in Rotherham Baulk in Carlton-in-Lindrick, Nottinghamshire in the United Kingdom.
Local media reports say two men aged 28 and 31 have been arrested for manslaughter. Also, a 28-year woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with the tragic death of Kamil.
According to a report by Daily Mail, all three suspects were in police custody.
Reports cited locals as saying that Kamil was crushed while helping the two men attempt to cut down the 30-foot tall tree on the border of two houses.
A Detective Inspector, Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire, was quoted as saying: “This was a tragic incident and my thoughts are with the boy’s family. They have asked for privacy at this most difficult time.”
He added that “The family are being supported by specially-trained officers as we continue to investigate exactly what happened.”
