Johannesburg, South Africa – South African music stars Azana and Big Zulu are setting the tone for Valentine’s Day with their new single, “Amacala Othando”, set to release on January 24 across all streaming platforms.
The track explores the complexities of love, focusing on a troubled marriage where miscommunication creates tension, but love and respect prevail. “It’s an argumentative dialogue between lovers expressing their concerns. At the end, they agree never to grow apart despite their challenges,” explained Azana.
For Azana, collaborating with Big Zulu was a dream come true. “This was an amazing experience. Big Zulu is a living legend, and this collaboration is an answered prayer,” she said.
Big Zulu echoed her excitement, describing the song as a serendipitous creation. “This song came unexpectedly as we were just jamming in the studio. Little did we know something magical would come out of it. Working with Makhosazana [Azana] was exceptional, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience the story we’re telling.”
The duo has already begun shooting the music video and has teased fans with sneak peeks on social media. Fans are eagerly anticipating the simultaneous release of the song and video.
“Amacala Othando” promises to be a heartfelt addition to the playlists of lovers, perfectly capturing the spirit of Valentine’s Day.
