Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has achieved a historic milestone at the 2025 MOBO Awards in Newcastle, United Kingdom, taking home two of the night’s most prestigious honors: Best International Act and Best African Music Act.

 

Her victory in the Best International Act category is groundbreaking, making her the first African female artist ever to win the award. She also shattered another record by becoming the first female winner of the Best African Music Act category in 16 years.

 

Known for her genre-blending sound that fuses Afrobeats, R&B, and pop, the ‘Sabi Girl’ continues to solidify her place as a global force in music.
