AfroFuture, the globally renowned entertainment platform celebrating the African diaspora, is bringing its highly anticipated festival to the U.S. for the first time. AfroFuture Detroit will take place on August 16-17, 2025, at Bedrock’s Douglass Site in Detroit, blending the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats and Amapiano with the legendary sounds of Motown and Techno.
Building on the success of its flagship event in Accra, Ghana, and other international festivals that have drawn over 160,000 attendees worldwide, AfroFuture Detroit aims to bridge cultures, celebrate African excellence, and unite the diaspora through music, art, and fashion.
> “As a cultural and musical powerhouse, Detroit is the perfect city to launch this transformative experience,” said AfroFuture CEO and Co-founder Abdul Karim Abdullah. “This is more than just a festival—it’s a moment of unity and a celebration of the power of Africa.”
The event, sponsored by Bedrock and produced by Detroit-based Paxahau, will feature live performances from international Afrobeats, Caribbean, and Hip-hop megastars, immersive art installations, and a vibrant marketplace showcasing African creativity.
> “AfroFuture is built for community, and we can’t think of a better place than Detroit for its U.S. debut,” said Bedrock CEO Kofi Bonner.
With a mix of dynamic performances, Afrocentric art, bold fashion, and diverse cuisine, AfroFuture Detroit promises an unforgettable fusion of tradition and innovation.
