A new campaign, “AWARESO – The Traditional Ghanaian Bride,” is set to revitalize the use of local beaded jewelry in modern Ghanaian marriage ceremonies. A collaboration between SELINA BEB and QUOPHI AKOTUAH, the campaign showcases the beauty and cultural significance of Ghanaian beads, highlighting their embodiment of unity, love, and heritage.
The campaign features a dazzling collection of kente gowns paired with intricate and historically rich beads, including trade beads, Aggry beads, Krobo beads, and coral beads. The result is a sensational collection designed to inspire future brides to embrace their heritage.
“Our mission is to inspire future traditional brides to proudly embrace our heritage and be ‘Adorned in Tradition!'” says Selina Bebaako Mensah, Creative Designer of Selina Beb Designs. With AWARESO, the campaign demonstrates how local beaded jewelry perfectly complements modern kente gowns, offering future brides a regal, divine, and truly beautiful look. “With love, dedication, and research, we crafted the pieces in this campaign, and we’re thrilled to share them with you! Explore the collection and experience the beauty of Ghanaian tradition,” Mensah added.
The campaign features a star-studded lineup, with actress Joselyn Dumas representing an Ashanti bride, media personality Selly Galley as an Ewe bride, actress Salma Mumin as a Northern bride, actress Nikki Samonas as an Akan bride, and media personality Caroline Sampson as a Ga bride.
