7-year-old Girl Dies In Car Accident On Her Way To School In South Africa

A seven-year-old girl has been killed in a car crash in Newlands, Durban in South Africa.

 

She was on her way to school when the crash occurred around 7am on Inanda close to Parlock Road.

According to the ALS Paramedics who visited the scene, the crash involved a taxi and a light motor vehicle.

 

ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Gareth Jamieson, told the media that paramedics arrived on the scene to find carnage when they were informed that a taxi and a vehicle carrying school children on their way to school had collided in a rear end collision.

 

He said: “Paramedics quickly triaged the scene and found that the light motor vehicle had seven occupants.”

 

Jamieson further noted that: “Unfortunately a little girl believed to be seven years of age was found unresponsive.”

 

According to him, “Paramedics quickly assessed her however she had sustained multiple injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for her and she was declared deceased on the scene.”

 

He revealed that additionally five children sustained various injuries and were stabilized on the scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further medical care that they required.

He stated that the driver of the vehicle was also injured, adding “The occupants of the taxi were uninjured.”
