A 60-year-old American national, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, has died in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, while on a trip to visit her 39-year-old male acquaintance, Alawode Olaide.
According to security expert Zagazola Makama, Elton arrived in Warri on September 15, 2025, to stay with Olaide. On Monday, September 29, around 3:00 PM, she reportedly developed sudden health complications at the residence.
She was initially rushed to a private medical facility in Otokutu before being transferred to the Central Hospital, Warri, where medical personnel confirmed she was dead upon arrival.
Law enforcement officers were immediately informed of the incident. Following a visit to the residence, they detained Alawode Olaide for questioning regarding the circumstances of her death.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Central Hospital morgue, pending an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. The case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a full investigation.
