Nigerian Farmer Escapes Venomous Snake Bite on Yam Farm

A close encounter with a venomous snake left Paul Yaor, a farmer in Nigeria, thanking God for his life after narrowly avoiding a potentially deadly bite on his farm.

Speaking about the incident, Paul said he had gone to harvest leftover yams on Saturday when he spotted the snake lying in wait.

“Somebody shout the devil is a liar,” he posted on social media. “The devil visited me this morning. She was quietly waiting down there. She almost got me, but God opened my eyes, and I saw her just in time. I quickly took her out, or my life would have been a story this morning. It was a very dangerous snake. Lord, I thank You for Your mercy.”

Paul’s experience serves as a stark reminder of the dangers farmers can face in rural areas, where venomous snakes are common, and underscores his gratitude for surviving a potentially life-threatening encounter.
