The 13th commemoration of the late former Ghanaian President, John Evans Atta Mills emphasis that he came to the presidency with a clear vision that was encapsulated in the ‘Better Ghana Agenda” she lamented.
This was not a mere campaign slogan, but a comprehensive framework for national development.
Speaking at a lecture to commemorated the 13th Memorial Service for late H.E. John Evans Atta Mills, Nana Oye Bambo Addo, hinted that Mills understood that Ghana’s future belonged to its young people, and he believed they should have a voice in shaping that future.
According to her, the circumstances of Mills’ death dying in office while serving his people provided a testament to his character and commitment.
“It was not stubbornness or ego, but a deep sense of responsibility to the people who had entrusted him with leadership” she observed.
Nana Oye Bambo Addo reiterated to the fact that his faith contributed to his humanity and Service. He genuinely believed that his talents and opportunities were gifts from God to be used in service of others.
She was optimistic that perhaps his greatest legacy as president was demonstrated that leadership could be both effective and ethical, both strong and humble, and both vision and practical.
According to her, the ex-president showed that it was possible to succeed in politics without compromising on one’s principles and to serve without sacrificing one’s integrity.
