The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, touched down in Accra, the capital of Ghana, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, for a state visit.
Mr. Mnangagwa was received at the airport upon arrival by the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.
President Mahama was joined by several of his appointees including Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, in welcoming President Mnangagwa to Ghana.

Shortly after receiving President Mnangagwa at the airport, Mr. Mahama posted on social media that “”Welcome to Accra, Ghana, and I look forward to our deliberations on how our two countries will strengthen bilateral relations.”
Earlier, President Mahama said Mr. Mnangagwa’s “1 to 3 April visit will celebrate the historic bonds between Ghana and Zimbabwe. We are two countries whose destinies have been intertwined since the liberation struggles that shaped modern Africa. Our steadfast support for Zimbabwe’s independence movement remains a proud legacy that continues to shape our bilateral relations.”
He added that “Welcome to Accra, President Mnangagwa, and let us work to enhance the strategic partnership between our two nations.”
