Nigerian alternative R&B artist Temmie Ovwasa, known as YBNL Princess, has sparked conversation after stating her unapologetic stance against men, asserting she has no interest in extending “grace” to them, regardless of their character.
The openly lesbian singer made the comments during a fan Q&A session on Saturday, linking her position to the prevalent threat of gender-based violence and femicide in Nigeria.

“In this same country where all it takes to justify r3ping a woman is to tell people she’s a lesbian? Lmao, you must be joking,” Ovwasa wrote.

She doubled down on her focus, stating she is committed to “building a lesbian-centred world” with “no exceptions.” Ovwasa stressed that whether men are “good or bad,” they simply “don’t matter” in the world she is advocating for, urging others to focus their energy on advocacy for women and children instead of debating her boundary-setting.

Known for her raw storytelling and outspoken personality, Temmie Ovwasa continues to be a provocative figure in Nigeria’s conservative entertainment space, challenging societal norms regarding sexuality, gender, and power dynamics through her public commentary and music.
