The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has announced a change in the schedule for its upcoming offshore pipeline cleaning and inspection exercises. Initially set to take place from January 20 to February 3, 2025, the exercises have been rescheduled to new dates, which have not been publicly disclosed.

According to WAPCo, the rescheduling is aimed at ensuring the successful completion of the critical maintenance activities, which are essential for the safe and efficient operation of the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP). The WAGP is a 678-kilometer pipeline that transports natural gas from Nigeria to Ghana, Togo, and Benin.

The offshore pipeline cleaning and inspection exercises are routine maintenance activities designed to remove debris and inspect the pipeline for any potential issues. These exercises are crucial in preventing pipeline damage, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of natural gas to power plants, industries, and households across the region.

WAPCo has assured stakeholders that the rescheduling will not impact the reliability of the WAGP, and the company remains committed to delivering safe and efficient gas transportation services to its customers.
