Victor Boniface’s AC Milan Move Stalls Over Medical Concerns

Victor Boniface, the 24-year-old Nigerian striker, is heading back to Bayer Leverkusen today after medical concerns stalled his potential move to AC Milan.

Boniface underwent extensive tests at La Madonnina clinic and Galeazzi Hospital in Milan over the past two days but was not cleared by the Serie A club to finalize the transfer.

The hesitation is linked to his injury record, which includes two cruciate ligament tears during his time at Bodø/Glimt in 2019 and recurring muscle problems, prompting Milan to take a cautious stance.

Providing an update on Sunday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Boniface’s medical evaluations have yet to meet Milan’s requirements, with further reviews expected.

“After medical tests at AC Milan, Victor Boniface returns to Germany, as there’s still no green light to his move. After 48 hours in Milano, Boniface will be back in Leverkusen today, waiting for AC Milan’s imminent decision on his medical tests/checks made over the weekend,” Romano stated.

The deal under discussion involves a €5 million loan fee with a €24 million purchase option. Milan’s careful approach underscores how critical medical assessments have become in modern transfers, where a player’s health can make or break a multi-million-euro agreement.
