Usimamane Elevates South African Hip-Hop with Rick Ross Collaboration and Major Milestones

Johannesburg, South Africa – Rising hip-hop sensation Usimamane is taking South African rap to global heights with the upcoming deluxe edition of his album, 20th: Days Before Maud, dropping this Wednesday. The project features a highly anticipated collaboration with American rap legend Rick Ross on the track “DANGEROUS II”.

 

Usimamane, born Omuhleumnguni Simamane, has been on an unstoppable rise in the music industry. His hit song “Uvalo”, featuring Sjava, has just hit 3 million views on YouTube, and his YouTube channel has surpassed 100,000 subscribers. Sharing his excitement on Instagram, he wrote:

The Umlazi-born rapper first gained recognition through his feature on Tony Dayimane’s track “Ifilimu” before breaking out with his 2024 single “Cheque”, which achieved triple platinum status in South Africa. His debut album, 20th: Days Before Maud, set streaming records, achieving the highest second-day streams on Spotify South Africa.

 

The collaboration with Rick Ross came after the rap mogul visited Cape Town in January, where he connected with Usimamane to film the music video for “DANGEROUS II”. In an interview with Apple Music’s Nadeska, Usimamane revealed that Ross personally reached out to his team after hearing the original version with CaseKlowzed.

 

With chart-topping success, high-profile collaborations, and growing international recognition, Usimamane is solidifying his place as one of Africa’s most exciting hip-hop stars. Fans can expect more groundbreaking music and visuals when “DANGEROUS II” drops this Wednesday.
