A British judge has ordered that American musician, Chris Brown should be remanded in custody until June 13, 2025 when he is expected to reappear in court and stand trial for allegedly beating a music producer with a bottle in a London club back in 2023.
The Grammy-winning singer appeared in Manchester Magistrates’ Court to face one count of causing grievous bodily harm and was ordered held until his next hearing on June 13th in London, The Associated Press reported.
June 13 is the same day Chris Brown is due to perform in Frankfurt, Germany, on the third date of his world tour.
British judge, Joanne Hirst rejecting Chris Brown’s bail request after prosecutor Hannah Nicholls told the court that the crime in question was “extremely serious.”
In February 2023, Christopher Brown was on tour in Britain when he allegedly attacked music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle at the Tape Nightclub, in London’s Mayfair neighborhood.
His lawyer, Grace Forbes told the court that he was not a flight risk and that he should be released.
His case has been transferred to Southwark Crown Court in London where he is due to enter a plea to the charge against him.
