Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, has won his seventh term of office with 71.65 percent of votes.
Official results declared on Saturday, January 17, 2026, showed that Museveni defeated musician-turned-politician, Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine, real name Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, polled 24.72 percent of the vote, according to the final results.
The elections were marred by violence with reports of seven persons being killed in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.
Museveni, age 81, is one of Africa’s oldest and longest-serving Presidents.
