US President, Donald Trump, has vowed to take action against “evil people” after a man he described as “deranged lunatic” and “career criminal” allegedly stabbed a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee, Iryna Zarutska, to death in Charlotte.
The suspect, named Decarlos Brown Jr, allegedly stabbed Iryna to death on a train.

Iryan was seated in the train and was stabbed from behind several times, a horrific video shared on social media shows.
Reacting to the gruesome killing in a statement shared via The White House official X account, President Trump expressed outrage, vowing to take action.
He wondered why such a lunatic was allowed on the train and on the streets.
According to President Trump in the statement, “I have seen the horrific video of a beautiful, young Ukrainian refugee, who came to America to escape the vicious War in Ukraine, and was innocently riding the Metro in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was brutally ambushed by a mentally deranged lunatic.”
He said “The perpetrator was a well known career criminal, who had been previously arrested and released on CASHLESS BAIL in January, a total of 14 TIMES. What the hell was he doing riding the train, and walking the streets? Criminals like this need to be LOCKED UP.”

Speaking at the Museum of Bible on earlier on Monday, September 8, 2025, Trump made reference to the murder of Zarutska.
In a report sighted by Africa Publicity on Fox.com, President Trump was quoted as saying at the Museum of the Bible that “We’re all people of religion, but there are evil people,” adding “And we have to confront that. I just give my love and hope to the family of the young woman who was stabbed this morning or last night in Charlotte by a madman.”
