President Donald Trump says he is open to pardoning his old friend, disgraced American rap mogul, record producer and entrepreneur, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs “if he’s being mistreated”.

But President Trump was quick to add that he must “look at the facts” first.

President Trump recently exercised the authority of his office to pardon several celebrities, including reality TV couple, Toddy and Julie Chrisley and rapper NBA YoungBoy.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, Fox News reporter, Peter Doocy, asked Trump during a press conference at the Oval Office of The White House whether he would consider pardoning Diddy who is currently on trial in New York on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Responding, Trump said “Nobody’s asked…[but] I know people are thinking about it.”

Back in 2012 while hosting “The Apprentice” on NBC, Trump said he was a “good friend” of Diddy.”

But on Friday, the President says he hasn’t been following the Diddy trial closely, saying “I haven’t seen him, I haven’t spoken to him in years. He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics he sort of – that relationship busted up.”

On issuing a pardon for Diddy, Trump says “It’s not a popularity contest…I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me, it wouldn’t have any impact on me.”

Diddy’s ex-Girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, recently testified against him that he forced her to take part in sex parties otherwise known as ‘freak-offs’ for 10 years. She told jurors in the trial that she sometimes had to take ecstasy and get drunk to take part in the sex parties.

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, Diddy could spend the rest of his life in prison.
