President Donald Trump has had a phone call with the Artemis II Astronauts.

The call comes after the astronauts broke the farthest distance record in human spaceflight history.

During the video call, President Trump told the four astronauts “Your mission paves the way for America’s return to the lunar surface very soon.”

The Artemis II mission features a four-person crew—NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman (Commander), Victor Glover (Pilot), Christina Koch (Mission Specialist), and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen (Mission Specialist)—who, in April 2026, became the first humans in over 50 years to fly around the Moon.
