West Ham United’s academy goalkeeper Oscar Fairs has tragically passed away at the tender age of 15 after a courageous battle with cancer. Fairs was diagnosed with an ependymoma, a rare type of brain tumor, in August 2023.

Prior to his diagnosis, Oscar endured an eight-month ordeal of debilitating symptoms, including heart palpitations, right-sided weakness, headaches, and sickness. Shockingly, his condition was initially misdiagnosed as mental health issues and migraines.

Oscar’s untimely passing has sent shockwaves through the football community, with West Ham United and fans around the world paying tribute to the talented young goalkeeper. His bravery and resilience in the face of adversity have inspired countless hearts.
