Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie was allegedly held at gunpoint during an incident in north London earlier this season, according to reports now confirmed to involve the 22-year-old. The confrontation is said to have taken place at the start of September while Udogie was walking with a friend on a busy public street.
Sources familiar with the situation told multiple outlets that the disagreement stemmed from Udogie’s decision not to continue working with a particular football agent. The agent, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was later arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. Detectives are also examining related allegations of blackmail and threats directed at Udogie’s associate. As of now, the suspect has been released on bail and has not been charged.

The alleged incident did not prevent Udogie from continuing his career commitments. He has remained an active part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad — even featuring in Tottenham’s league win over West Ham just a week after the alleged confrontation. He also played in Spurs’ Champions League fixture against Copenhagen on Wednesday.
Police have not released further details while the investigation continues.
Tottenham have not commented publicly on the matter, though club sources say Udogie has been receiving support internally.
