Thomas Partey Granted Conditional Bail in Rape and Sexual Assault Case

On August 5, 2025, former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, 32, was granted conditional bail following a brief hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he faced five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three women, related to alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022. Partey, who denied all charges, was not required to enter a plea but confirmed he understood the charges and bail conditions during the 15-minute session. The case has been transferred to the Old Bailey for trial, with his next court appearance scheduled for September 2, 2025.

Bail Conditions

  • Partey is prohibited from contacting any of the women involved in the case.

  • He must notify police of any address changes.

  • He must inform police of any international travel plans.

Partey, a free agent since his Arsenal contract expired on June 30, 2025, was first arrested in July 2022, though not publicly named at the time. He continued playing for Arsenal, making 52 appearances last season, after joining from Atlético Madrid in 2020 for £45 million. Despite reports of a near-completed move to Villarreal, including a medical, the transfer remains unconfirmed amid his ongoing legal proceedings.
