Interview with The Cultured Man

What was the planning process like for this project, and how does it feel to see your creations making headlines after the awards?

Ans. The planning process was both intentional and deeply collaborative. For us, tailoring is never just about fabric and measurements; it is about interpreting the soul of the wearer. Once the opportunity came from the visionary behind this elite event, our studio was instantly filled with gratitude, excitement, and a renewed sense of responsibility. We approached each look with a clear goal, create a garment that not only complements the individual’s personality but elevates their presence the moment they step onto the red carpet.

We explored mood boards, textures, and silhouettes that aligned with the EMY Africa Awards’ essence: Celebrating a decade of inspiring greatness thereby embodying each distinct look the message we champion as a brand: “Confidence is always Tailored.”

What was the emotional impact of the success?

When the images began circulating online and the designs became talking points after the event, it was both humbling and elated. For us, it wasn’t just about making headlines, it was about contributing to a moment in African fashion history, one where our homegrown talent is recognized for elegance, innovation, and heritage. It affirmed that our work is not just clothing; it is storytelling, culture preservation, and a visual expression of what the modern gentleman represents.

In the end, the EMY Africa Awards allowed us to showcase not only garments but the philosophy and purpose behind our craft. And for that, we remain deeply grateful.
