Some seven people have reportedly been killed by suspected terrorists who attacked two churches in Kaduna, Nigeria during Easter celebrations.
The churches were reportedly attacked in Ariko community in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Christian worshippers were celebrating Easter when the attacks took place.
Nigerian media outlet, Punch reported that the councillor representing Awon Ward, under which Ariko District falls, Mark Bawa, confirmed the attack, saying the affected churches are First ECWA Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church, both located in Ariko.
Bawa was quoting as saying that “I am currently on my way to the community to ascertain the exact number of casualties. Some sources said seven persons were killed, while others claimed eight. I will provide an update once details are confirmed.”
