Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, DSc. HC, Chief Executive of Telecel Ghana, was named Telecom CEO of the Year and Female CEO of the Year at the 4th Ghana CEO Vision and Awards, held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. The event, organized by Globe Productions and Graphic Communications Group, celebrated top executives across over 30 sectors, including banking, insurance, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, creative arts, and hospitality, for their leadership, innovation, and impact.
Themed Positioning CEOs as Catalysts for Attracting Investment and Tourism to Ghana, the ceremony emphasized the private sector’s role in enhancing Ghana’s economic diplomacy and global appeal. Ing. Obo-Nai received the Female CEO of the Year award from Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, and dedicated it to her Telecel team and customers, stating, “This award belongs to our cherished customers and the dedicated team at Telecel who work tirelessly each day to connect people and make an impact. Leadership is most meaningful when it improves lives and opens doors for the next generation. I am deeply honoured and reminded that there is still much more to do for our country.”
Latif Abubakar, CEO of Globe Productions, described the event as “a platform for celebrating CEOs who are not only driving profitability but also building Ghana’s image as an attractive hub for investors and tourists.” Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff, urged business leaders to act as economic diplomats, saying, “CEOs are no longer confined to boardrooms. You are the diplomats of the economy, champions of Ghana’s potential, faces that inspire investor confidence and the hands that build the systems, products and partnerships that move Ghana forward.” Hon. Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, called for stronger private sector collaboration with tourism and creative industries, noting, “The real prize is not the trophy, it is the transformation you lead, the lives you impact and the legacy you live behind.”
Obo-Nai’s dual awards highlight her leadership in advancing Ghana’s telecom sector, promoting digital inclusion, and contributing to socio-economic development. As Telecel Ghana expands its network and services, she reaffirmed the company’s commitment to connecting communities and creating lasting impact.
