Emmanuel Kefas, the boyfriend of the deceased Taraba State University Student, Comfort Jimtop Oliver, has also been found dead. Comfort was found dead in Emmanuel’s room and there was suspicion that he have fled after apparently killing her. But a search for him after discovering her body in his room ended with a rather tragic twist as he was also found dead.
Comfort was a 100-level student at Taraba State University (TSU). She was found dead in Emmanuel’s house in the Bakasi area of Jalingo.
But after a frantic search, Emmanuel, a 2024 Human Kinetics graduate of TSU, was later found dead in the Tudiri community, a short distance from the state capital.
According to residents, Emmanuel may have killed himself following Comfort’s death.
Locals say Comfort and Emmanuel were residents of the same neighborhood in Jalingo, living approximately 200 meters apart near Dr. Rapha Memorial Guest Inn.
Comfort, who was from the Takum Local Government Area and a member of the Kuteb ethnic group, had been in a relationship with Emmanuel since his university days.
Police investigating the case told journalists that empty bottles of hard liquor were found next to the bed where Comfort died. The Taraba State Police Command has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding both deaths.
