Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has publicly threatened to beat up social media personality Kehinde Adams, popularly known as Lege Miami, over comments the content creator made regarding Nwabali’s late father.
The confrontation arose after Lege Miami criticized several players in the Nigeria national team for their failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite Nwabali saving two penalty kicks during the crucial penalty shoot-out, the content creator reserved harsh criticism for him.
The Line Drawn
The comments, which reportedly referenced Nwabali’s late father, whose funeral the goalkeeper recently attended, triggered an angry response from the Chippa United stopper. Nwabali took to his Instagram story to issue a direct and clear warning to the content creator:
“Lege Miami, remove my late dad’s name from your mouth if you are doing your content.”
“If you don’t learn to respect people’s dad, you should respect the dead. I’m not your regular type of footballer. I go beat you mercilessly. You’re free to insult me, but remove my late dad’s name from your mouth.”
Nwabali’s statement clearly draws a line between professional criticism (which he accepts) and personal attacks involving his deceased family member, underscoring the severe disrespect he felt.
Lege Miami’s Counter
Hours later, Lege Miami reshared Nwabali’s aggressive message and doubled down on his initial stance, insisting the goalkeeper must now apologize to Nigerians for his comments.
“@nwabali32 you come to my dm to insult my personality due to I corrected your mistakes; anyway, all I want to say is for you to make an apology video for Nigerians.”
The incident has fueled heated discussion across social media about the boundaries between celebrity criticism, fan frustration, and personal attacks in the Nigerian sports and entertainment scene.
