Multi-platinum-selling South African artist Da Mabusa (real name Johan Sifiso Sithebe) is contributing to the evolution of the country’s sound with his latest single, “Ungigcine,” featuring Noex and DJ Kayd Boizen. The song masterfully blends the pulsing rhythms of Amapiano with the depth of spiritual music.
The single’s lyrics reflect a profound sense of faith and resilience, capturing the longing for hope and divine relief. Verses such as “Ngyacela Baba, uzuphendule imithandazo yethu” (“Please Father, answer our prayers”) speak to universal emotional needs, while Mabusa’s line, “Mina ngizobambelela kuwe, noma isimo singavumi” (“I will hold on to you, even if the situation is not favourable”), conveys powerful perseverance.

Mabusa, who was born in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, and began his musical journey in church choirs, described the personal nature of the track:
