Recycle Up! Ghana (RUG), a pioneering climate-focused non-profit, celebrated its 10th Anniversary Summit by launching a Waste Management Educational Handbook at the ISSER Conference Facility, University of Ghana, on December 17, 2024.

The comprehensive handbook, targeted at basic and high schools, serves as a practical guide to waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability practices. It empowers students, educators, and community leaders with the tools necessary to foster a waste-free Ghana.

Abdulrahim Shaibu-Issah, Executive Director of RUG, emphasized the handbook’s significance: “This handbook is RUG’s gift to Ghana, reflecting our decade of impactful work and guiding the next generation of environmental leaders to tackle waste challenges head-on.”

The 10th Anniversary Summit, themed “Journey Towards Sustainability: Reflecting and Celebrating 10 Years of Progress!”, brought together key stakeholders, including climate entrepreneurs, policymakers, and environmental advocates. The event featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, startup pitch presentations, and exhibitions.

The handbook’s launch marks a significant milestone in RUG’s efforts to promote a circular economy and environmental stewardship. Guests praised the initiative for its potential to revolutionize waste education in Ghana and beyond.

As RUG embarks on a new chapter under its rebranded identity, RUG: Empower, Innovate, Sustain, the organization is poised to expand its reach and impact, inspiring a new generation of environmental leaders to drive sustainable change.
