Accra, July 15, 2025 – QNET, a global lifestyle and wellness company, has partnered with Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to tackle the rising tide of scams, illegal migration schemes, and human trafficking, as announced at a press briefing in Accra. This collaboration aims to dismantle criminal networks exploiting Ghanaians and West Africans through fraudulent job offers, scholarship scams, and false promises of international opportunities, often misusing the names of legitimate companies like QNET.
Raymond Archer, Acting Executive Director of EOCO, praised the partnership, stating, “This is a significant step towards combating organised and cross-border crime in Ghana. QNET and EOCO are seeking to leverage our expertise and resources to disrupt these criminal networks, protect our citizens, and maintain the integrity of our economy.” The MoU outlines key objectives: proactive investigation of fraud and brand impersonation, knowledge exchange on detecting and preventing fraud and human trafficking, public awareness campaigns, and timely sharing of suspicious activity reports.
Biram Fall, QNET’s Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized, “This partnership is not about protecting a brand—it is about protecting people. Fraudsters have hijacked the names of reputable companies to exploit others. Together, we are drawing a line.” The collaboration aligns with the opening of QNET’s new compliance office in Ghana, which will serve as a hub for regulatory and security agencies. Ramya Chandrasekaran, Chief Communications Officer of QNET’s parent company QI Group, added, “With EOCO’s reach, authority, and investigative powers, and our commitment to transparency and education, we can disrupt these criminal networks and educate communities.”
QNET’s prior efforts include the “QNET Against Scams” campaign launched in August 2024, utilizing media and billboards to educate the public on scam tactics. In 2024-2025, QNET supported West African law enforcement in prosecuting over 150 individuals for brand misuse-related fraud and aided nearly 400 victims in recovering funds or returning home. The partnership builds on EOCO’s mandate under Act 804 (2010) to investigate and prosecute economic and organised crimes, including human trafficking and cybercrime.
QNET and EOCO urge the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities via QNET’s WhatsApp hotline (+233 256 630 005) or email (network.integrity@qnet.net), or EOCO’s offices, email (eoco@eoco.gov.gh), WhatsApp (+233 579 709 066), telephone (+233 0547 419 419), or social media (@EOCOghana). This united front aims to shield communities and empower victims in the fight against fraud and exploitation.
