The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has handed over 2000 motorcycles to his country’s national police.
The handing over ceremony took place in the national capital Ouagadougou on Monday morning, February 2, 2026.
“This is a special order of two-wheelers brand “Yento” which means “Security” in Gulmancema for the benefit of the National Police. These bikes will help reduce response times and make crime zones more accessible to security forces. This acquisition is a materialization of the vision of the President of Faso, who has the safety of the population at its heart”, the presidency of Burkina Faso said.

“I formally hand over to you the keys to these motorcycles for the safety of our citizens. It’s a mission assigned to you. “I think this will bring more to your netting, an efficient work that you have already begun,” says Faso President, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, while handing over the keys to the Minister of Security, Divisional Commissioner of Police Mahamadou SANA. “Keep encouraging the elements to do their best so that in different cities, people are safe,” the Head of State added.

The Minister of Security has pledged, on behalf of the security personnel, to put it to good use. “This supply of motorcycles will further enhance security across the country.” When it comes to safety, you need mobility and speed. The motorcycles will go to the National Police in a very rapid deployment to give more peace of mind to the population. These motorcycles will also help consolidate the “S 24/7” concept launched in 2025, the Ministry of Security said.
