Kenyan President, William Ruto, has officially opened the 2025 Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri Park.

He opened the fair on Wednesday, October 1. According to President Ruto, the fair is “a platform that showcases not just the resilience of our farmers, but the boundless opportunities of a nation on the rise.”

He said his administration was “deliberately and strategically reforming and supporting our agricultural and trade sectors — the twin turbo-engines of Kenya’s prosperity — to ensure that the hard work of our farmers is translated into real incomes and jobs.”

Over the last three years, he revealed that his government has registered 7.1 million farmers to deliver targeted support, reduced the cost of critical inputs, and invested in value addition through Special Economic Zones, County Aggregation and Industrial Parks, and Common User Facilities in partnership with the private sector.

These bold reforms, he said, were cutting post-harvest losses, raising productivity, and linking our farmers directly to competitive markets. This is the essence of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda: growth that is inclusive, sustainable, and transformative.
