Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema, has launched the 2025 edition of the annual Digital Government Africa Summit.
Speaking at the launching ceremony in Lusaka on Wednesday, October 7, 2025, President Hichilema reaffirmed the Zambian government’s commitment to driving Africa’s digital transformation.
Now in its third year, the summit welcomed delegates from 26 nations under the theme, “Accelerating Digital Transformation for E-Government.”
President Hichilema stressed the importance of digital infrastructure to unite Africans and economies across the continent.
He says “As leaders, we bear the responsibility of advancing economic opportunities for our citizens, including through digitalisation initiatives, which are also key to boosting intra-African trade.”
By prioritising digital advancement, he said Africa can unlock even more economic growth and improve the quality of life for all Zambians.
