President Ismail Omar Guelleh received members of a delegation of Chinese public operators, led by Dr Dong Yanhong, at the Presidential Palace of Djibouti Monday, late morning.
This hearing served as a privileged framework to exchange on the nature and scope of the proposed projects for successful partnerships between the two parties.
It is worth noting that energy constitutes a priority area of collaboration already agreed upon between the Government of Djibouti and Chinese public consortiums.
In this first phase of cooperation, it involves setting up, in our country, electricity production units mainly based on wind and solar energy.
The second phase of this partnership will focus on enhanced cooperation in salt mining industries, including pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing and agri-food sectors.
Destined to provide Djibouti with affordable and renewable energy, this partnership – which will be definitively completed in November 2026 – also aims to generate a large number of jobs.
