The incident occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 9:20 p.m. in Byron Recreation Park, a well-used community space in the Weston area. “She acted incredibly bravely in a frightening situation,” Barry noted. “Running to find help, alerting responsible adults, and making sure the matter was reported without delay were exactly the right steps. We are also very grateful to the women who stayed with her and ensured she felt safe until officers arrived.”
According to the police, two officers met with the child and her family on the same night. A detailed initial account was taken, and specialist officers are now supporting the family as the investigation develops.
