Pastor Adeboye Advises Tinubu on Trump’s Military Threat: ‘Move Fast, Move Wisely, Delay Action for 100 Days’

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has publicly addressed U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threat to launch military action against terrorists in Nigeria, urging the Nigerian government to handle the situation with immediate wisdom and diplomatic action.

Speaking during a church program, Pastor Adeboye advised the President Bola Tinubu administration to engage the U.S. swiftly and diplomatically.

“My children, if I were asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to our government, move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Find a way to convince the president of America to please delay his actions for about 100 days,” he advised.

The Challenge to Security Agencies

Pastor Adeboye further urged the Nigerian government to use that 100-day grace period to hold its security agencies directly accountable for the nation’s security challenges.

“Come home and say to our security chiefs: get rid of these terrorists within 90 days, or resign,” he added.

Context of Trump’s Threat

The religious leader’s comments come in response to President Trump’s declaration on Friday, where he redesignated Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” over alleged persecution of Christians.

Trump warned of possible military intervention, citing continued violence against Christians and the Nigerian government’s alleged failure to protect religious minorities.

The Nigerian government has since officially dismissed the accusations, insisting that no religious group is being targeted or persecuted in the country.
