Oscars 2025: Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and More to Perform in Star-Studded Musical Lineup

The 2025 Oscars are set to deliver a night of spectacular musical performances, with Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande confirmed to take the stage. The blockbuster film, nominated for Best Picture, will have a major presence at the ceremony on Sunday, March 2.

Other artists joining the lineup include Doja Cat, Blackpink’s Lisa, Queen Latifah, and British singer-songwriter Raye, along with a special performance by the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Unlike previous years, where performances focused on Best Original Song nominees, this year’s acts will instead honor the filmmaking community and its legendary figures. The specific songs they will perform remain a mystery.

Erivo and Grande stand out as the only Oscar-nominated performers of the night, with Erivo up for Best Actress and Grande for Best Supporting Actress for their roles in Wicked. If Erivo wins, she will achieve EGOT status, joining an elite group of fewer than 30 artists who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

With 10 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Score, Wicked is one of the night’s most anticipated films. Fans speculate that Erivo and Grande might perform Defying Gravity, one of the musical’s most iconic tracks, which became a viral sensation and charted in the UK’s Top 10.

Hosting the Oscars for the first time is comedian Conan O’Brien, with the ceremony airing live on ABC at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.

Meanwhile, the Best Original Song nominees—El Mal (Emilia Perez), The Journey (The Six Triple Eight), Like a Bird (Sing Sing), Mi Camino (Emilia Perez), and Never Too Late (Elton John)—will not be performed live, marking a break from tradition.
